The Full Day Timeline
8:00 AM: NJ Transit begins selling additional same-day Final tickets at Penn Station. Buy in advance to avoid queues.
10:00 AM: MetLife gates and fan zones open. Early arrival recommended โ this is the largest World Cup match in US history by demand.
12:00 PM: Most NYC soccer bars open for pre-match atmosphere. Spanish fans gathering in Jackson Heights and Washington Heights. Argentine fans concentrating in Jackson Heights and Astoria.
1:00 PM: NJ Transit match-day trains begin running every 15 minutes from Penn Station. Trains fill quickly โ if taking transit, aim for 1pm or earlier departure.
1:30 PM: Stadium gates fully open. All ticket-holders should aim to be inside by 2:30pm โ security lines on Final day run 30โ45 minutes.
2:30 PM: Pre-match entertainment begins on the field. Both national anthems at approximately 2:50pm ET.
3:00 PM: Kickoff โ Spain vs Argentina, World Cup Final 2026.
~5:00 PM: Expected full-time if 90 minutes. Extra time possible (adds ~35 min). Penalties possible if tied after extra time.
