Best Seats at MetLife Stadium for the World Cup 2026
MetLife Stadium has 82,500 seats across four categories. Which ones are actually worth the money? Here is a section-by-section guide for World Cup matches.
The four ticket categories
Category 1 -- Lower bowl, midfield (most expensive)
Sections roughly 110-140 on the lower level, between the 30-yard lines. The classic premium football seat -- close to the action, central view, pitch-level atmosphere. Resale prices: $1,500-3,000+ for group stage, $5,000+ for the Final.
Worth it if: You want the definitive match experience and budget is not the primary constraint. The view is genuinely different from anything in the upper deck.
Not worth it if: You are primarily there for the atmosphere and tournament experience. Category 2 or 3 delivers 80% of the experience at 40-60% of the price.
Category 2 -- Lower bowl, corner/end zone
Lower deck sections in the corners and end zones. Still close to the pitch, good sightlines for most of the action, more affordable. Resale: $700-1,500 for group stage.
Worth it if: You want to be in the lower bowl without Category 1 prices. Corner views of attacking play near your end are genuinely exciting.
Category 3 -- Upper deck, midfield
Upper level sideline sections. Elevated perspective gives you the full tactical picture -- you can see the shape of both teams, the space behind defenses, and set piece patterns that are invisible from pitch level. Resale: $500-900.
Worth it if: You are a tactical football fan who wants to see the whole match. Many experienced supporters prefer upper midfield to lower bowl corners.
Category 4 -- Upper deck, corner/end zone (cheapest)
Upper level corners. The most affordable way to be at a World Cup match. Sightlines are reduced for play at the far end, but the atmosphere is the same. Resale: $350-700.
Worth it if: Your goal is to attend a World Cup match, experience the crowd, and say you were there. The atmosphere in a full MetLife is the same at Category 4 as Category 1.
Sun and shade analysis
MetLife is an open-air stadium oriented roughly east-west. For afternoon and evening kick-offs in June and July:
- West-facing upper deck sections (roughly sections 200-230) get direct afternoon sun for day kicks. Bring sunscreen and a hat.
- East-facing upper deck sections are in shade for late-afternoon kicks -- better for hot days.
- Lower bowl gets some shade from the upper deck overhang in the later afternoon.
- Evening kicks (6pm+ ET) -- sun is lower, conditions are generally more comfortable. The June 13 Brazil vs Morocco (6pm) and June 22 Norway vs Senegal (8pm) are the most comfortable from a heat perspective.
Best value pick
For a group stage match: Category 3 upper midfield. Full tactical view, reasonable price, same electric atmosphere. If you are attending the Final or a marquee knockout match and it might be your only World Cup experience, stretch to Category 2 lower bowl.
