NYC World Cup 2026 Watch Party Guide
New York City will be one of the best places on Earth to watch the 2026 World Cup — with or without a ticket to MetLife. The city has 500+ venues showing matches, free official fan zones, and neighborhoods that light up for every major game. Here's how to make the most of it.
Step 1: Know which matches matter most to you
The MetLife Stadium schedule drives the biggest watch party demand. On days when a major match is at the stadium, the whole city gets louder — fan zones fill up, bars pack out hours before kickoff, and neighborhoods with relevant fan communities become street festivals.
The biggest MetLife dates to plan around:
- June 13 — Brazil vs Morocco (Group C opener, massive both fanbases)
- June 16 — France vs Senegal (two of the most passionate communities in NYC)
- June 22 — Norway vs Senegal (Bay Ridge and Harlem lit up)
- June 25 — Ecuador vs Germany (Jackson Heights meets Yorkville)
- June 27 — Panama vs England (East Harlem meets every English pub in the city)
- July 19 — World Cup Final (the entire city, everywhere)
Step 2: Pick your priority
Not all watch parties are the same. Figure out what matters most before you pick a venue:
- Atmosphere first: Go to a bar where your team's fans will be. Jackson Heights for Ecuador and Argentina, Bay Ridge for Norway and Scandinavian teams, Astoria for Morocco and Greece, Harlem for Senegal and West African supporters.
- Convenience first: Midtown and Hell's Kitchen have dozens of large-screen venues within walking distance of each other. Good for group trips with mixed nationalities.
- Soccer culture first: Williamsburg and East Village have the best dedicated soccer bars — places that open at 6am for European matches and treat every game like an event.
- Outdoor viewing: Free fan zones at Rockefeller Center, Hudson Yards, and USTA Queens run throughout the tournament with big screens and no ticket required.
Step 3: Choose your neighborhood
Highest concentration of large-screen sports bars. Good for groups. Penn Station access for MetLife.
Williamsburg, BrooklynBest dedicated soccer bar scene. Spike Hill, Berry Park. Packed for every major match.
Astoria, QueensGreek, Moroccan, Brazilian, Croatian communities. Among the most diverse fan mix in the city.
Jackson Heights, QueensEcuador, Colombia, Argentina. Best for South American match days.
Bay Ridge, BrooklynNorwegian-American community. Also strong for Middle Eastern matches.
East Village, Manhattan11th Street Bar (Liverpool), international soccer bars. Early morning match crowds.
Step 4: Pick the right venue type
- Supporters bars — official supporter clubs for specific teams. Best for single-team match days.
- Big-screen venues — large format screens, multiple matches. Good for groups with mixed team allegiances.
- Soccer-first venues — places that prioritize soccer over other sports. More likely to show early kickoffs and lesser-profile matches.
- Irish pubs — traditional home for soccer in NYC. Strong for England, Ireland, and European matches.
- Free fan zones — Rockefeller Center, USTA Queens, Hudson Yards. No ticket, no cover.
Step 5: The early kickoff problem
Many World Cup matches kick off at 9am, noon, or 3pm EST. Not every bar opens that early. Soccer-first venues in Williamsburg and the East Village are your best bet for pre-noon kickoffs. Check with venues directly — most will open early for Group Stage matches involving their team communities.
The busiest days in NYC
These are the days to plan furthest in advance — arrive early, check venue policies on reservations, and have a backup option:
- June 13 — Brazil vs Morocco at MetLife (entire city activated)
- June 27 — Panama vs England (English pubs will be at capacity by 2pm)
- July 19 — World Cup Final (book anywhere you want to be by July 1)

- Football Factory at Legends — Midtown, Manhattan
- 11th Street Bar EV — East Village, Manhattan
