World Cup 2026 Accessibility Guide: MetLife and NYC
MetLife Stadium — ADA Accessibility
Wheelchair Seating
MetLife Stadium has ADA wheelchair accessible seating throughout all levels — lower, club, and upper. Companion seats are available adjacent to all wheelchair spaces. When purchasing tickets through Ticketmaster, select "Accessible Seating" in the seat filter to view available ADA inventory. If you have difficulty finding accessible tickets online, call the MetLife Accessibility Line at (201) 559-1515.
Accessible Entrances
All stadium gates have accessible entrances with level or ramped approaches. The security screening process at accessible entrances follows the same clear bag policy as general admission but with space for medical equipment (wheelchairs, mobility aids, medical devices) subject to inspection. Arrive at least 60 minutes before kickoff — accessible security lanes can have longer processing times on high-attendance match days.
Elevators
Elevator access to all levels is available at multiple points around the stadium concourse. Staff can direct you to the nearest elevator from any entrance gate. On match days, elevators can have wait times of 3-5 minutes during peak ingress (45-15 minutes before kickoff) and peak egress (the first 20 minutes after the final whistle). Plan accordingly.
Accessible Restrooms and Concessions
Accessible restrooms are available on every concourse level. Concession stands have lowered service counters at multiple locations. Stadium staff are trained to assist guests with disabilities — ask any green-jacketed staff member for assistance.
Medical Services
First aid stations are located throughout the stadium. The main medical services area can provide assistance for fans with medical conditions, heat-related illness, or other needs. If you require specific medical accommodations — oxygen, specific seating requirements, service animals — contact MetLife accessibility at (201) 559-1515 before match day.
Service Animals
Service animals are permitted inside MetLife Stadium. They must be harnessed or leashed and must remain under control at all times. Relief areas for service animals are located near accessible entrances — ask stadium staff on arrival for the nearest location.
NJ Transit — Accessible Match-Day Travel
Penn Station to MetLife
The NJ Transit journey from Penn Station to MetLife Stadium is fully accessible:
- Penn Station: Accessible from multiple street entrances with elevators to all platform levels. The Moynihan Train Hall (8th Ave entrance) has the most spacious accessible approach.
- NJ Transit trains: All match-day trains have accessible cars with wheelchair spaces and handrail support. Boarding ramps are deployed at Penn Station. Alert the conductor if you need assistance.
- Secaucus Junction: Elevator access between platforms. The platform transfer to the Meadowlands shuttle is level and accessible. Match-day staff provide guidance.
- Meadowlands shuttle: Accessible vehicles are available. Lift-equipped shuttle buses operate on match days — they may be a separate boarding queue from the standard shuttles. Allow extra time.
Accessible Parking
ADA parking is available at MetLife Stadium — purchase ADA parking passes in advance through the official World Cup parking portal. On match days, ADA parking is in designated lots closest to the accessible entrances. A valid disability placard or license plate is required. Note: FIFA has restricted standard parking at MetLife for most matches; ADA parking is one of the few remaining vehicle access options.
