World Cup 2026 Team Base Camps Near NYC

Three of the teams playing at New York New Jersey Stadium have chosen New Jersey as their tournament base — meaning the world's best national teams will be training just 30–45 minutes from Manhattan for most of June. Here's where each team is based.

Teams based in New Jersey

Brazil 🇧🇷 — Morristown, NJ

The five-time world champions chose New Jersey deliberately — their opening match is at MetLife, and the Red Bull facility is one of the finest MLS training complexes in the country. Manager Carlo Ancelotti's side will be well-positioned for the Final on July 19 if they advance — the stadium will feel like home by then.

For Brazilian fans in NYC, this is significant: the Seleção is effectively a local team for the tournament. The Brazil fan guide covers where to watch in Astoria, Newark's Ironbound district, and across the city.

Morocco 🇲🇦 — Basking Ridge, NJ

Morocco — semi-finalists at Qatar 2022 and bronze medalists at the Paris Olympics — chose New Jersey for the same reason as Brazil: their opening game is at MetLife. The Pingry School has historic World Cup significance, having hosted Italy's 1994 camp when the Azzurri reached that tournament's Final.

Moroccan fans in NYC gather in Astoria, Queens and Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. See the Morocco fan guide.

Senegal 🇸🇳 — New Brunswick, NJ

Senegal has two MetLife matches, making New Jersey the obvious base choice. The Teranga Lions have one of the most passionate fanbases among African nations, concentrated in Harlem and the Bronx. See the Senegal fan guide.

Haiti 🇭🇹 — Galloway, NJ

Teams playing at MetLife based elsewhere

France 🇫🇷 — Boston, MA

France is based at Bentley University in Boston, about 4 hours from NYC. They play MetLife on June 16 (vs Senegal) before returning to Boston for subsequent group stage matches. See the France fan guide.

Norway 🇳🇴 — Greensboro, NC

Norway is training at UNC Greensboro and plays MetLife on June 22 (vs Senegal). NYC's Norwegian community in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn will be the epicenter of support. See the Norway fan guide.

Ecuador 🇪🇨 — Columbus, OH

Ecuador trains at the Columbus Crew Performance Center (OhioHealth Performance Center) and plays MetLife on June 25 (vs Germany). NYC's massive Ecuadorian community in Jackson Heights will be watching. See the Ecuador fan guide.

Germany 🇩🇪 — Winston-Salem, NC

Germany chose Wake Forest University's W. Dennie Spry Soccer Stadium in Winston-Salem, NC — the first team to confirm their base camp. They play MetLife on June 25 (vs Ecuador). See the Germany fan guide.

Panama 🇵🇦 — New Tecumseth, Ontario, Canada

Panama is based in Ontario, Canada, and plays MetLife on June 27 (vs England). NYC's Panamanian community is centered in East Harlem and the Bronx. See the Panama fan guide.

England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 — Kansas City, MO

England is based at Swope Soccer Centre in Kansas City alongside Argentina and the Netherlands. They play MetLife on June 27 (vs Panama). Every English pub in NYC will be at capacity well before kickoff. See the England fan guide.
