World Cup 2026 Team Base Camps Near NYC
Three of the teams playing at New York New Jersey Stadium have chosen New Jersey as their tournament base — meaning the world's best national teams will be training just 30–45 minutes from Manhattan for most of June. Here's where each team is based.
Teams based in New Jersey
Brazil 🇧🇷 — Morristown, NJ
- Training: Red Bull Performance Center (Columbia Park), Morristown, NJ — the brand-new home of MLS club New York Red Bulls, featuring 8 full-size pitches
- Hotel: The Ridge Hotel, Basking Ridge, NJ — reserved entirely for the Brazilian delegation
- Distance from MetLife: 27 miles west of New York New Jersey Stadium
- NYC match: Brazil vs Morocco — June 13, 6pm
The five-time world champions chose New Jersey deliberately — their opening match is at MetLife, and the Red Bull facility is one of the finest MLS training complexes in the country. Manager Carlo Ancelotti's side will be well-positioned for the Final on July 19 if they advance — the stadium will feel like home by then.
For Brazilian fans in NYC, this is significant: the Seleção is effectively a local team for the tournament. The Brazil fan guide covers where to watch in Astoria, Newark's Ironbound district, and across the city.
Morocco 🇲🇦 — Basking Ridge, NJ
- Training: The Pingry School, Basking Ridge, NJ — the same facility used by Italy when they based here for the 1994 World Cup
- Hotel: Somerset Hills Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, Warren, NJ
- NYC match: Brazil vs Morocco — June 13, 6pm
Morocco — semi-finalists at Qatar 2022 and bronze medalists at the Paris Olympics — chose New Jersey for the same reason as Brazil: their opening game is at MetLife. The Pingry School has historic World Cup significance, having hosted Italy's 1994 camp when the Azzurri reached that tournament's Final.

Senegal 🇸🇳 — New Brunswick, NJ
- Training: Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ
- NYC matches: France vs Senegal — June 16, 3pm and Norway vs Senegal — June 22, 8pm
Senegal has two MetLife matches, making New Jersey the obvious base choice. The Teranga Lions have one of the most passionate fanbases among African nations, concentrated in Harlem and the Bronx. See the Senegal fan guide.
Haiti 🇭🇹 — Galloway, NJ
