FIFA Museum at Rockefeller Center: Legacies of Champions Free Exhibition NYC 2026
Published 2026-06-15 · WorldCup.NYC Editorial
The FIFA Museum's permanent home is in Zurich, Switzerland. For the duration of the 2026 World Cup, it's in the heart of Midtown Manhattan — and it's free. Legacies of Champions, a special exhibition presented by Hyundai Motor Company, is open at 50 Rockefeller Plaza from June 11 through July 19, 2026, giving New Yorkers and visitors from around the world a chance to walk through nearly a century of World Cup history without leaving the city.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino officially opened the exhibition on June 8, alongside FIFA legends Marco Materazzi, Christian Vieri, and Roberto Baggio. He described it as "an exhibition which tells us the history of the game, but which reminds us, as well, of the emotions that we lived in our life."
What's Inside
The exhibition features dedicated showcases from every World Cup tournament since 1930, bringing together original artifacts, iconic kits, legendary teams, and unforgettable players. Key highlights include:
- Historic artifacts from FIFA archives — original objects spanning from Uruguay 1930 to the present day, including jerseys from legends like Pelé, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Lionel Messi
- The Jules Rimet Trophy — the original World Cup trophy awarded from 1930 to 1970, shown with its original blue base, on display on select days
- The FIFA World Cup 2026 Winner's Trophy — the current trophy, also on display select days
- All 48 team jerseys — the full kit showcase from every participating nation in the expanded 2026 tournament
- The Wall of Champions — honoring every one of the 450 players who have won the World Cup
- The Final — a cinematic installation capturing the drama of football's biggest stage
- Hyundai Innovation Exhibit — showcasing Hyundai's 27-year FIFA partnership and research into robotics and football technology
- Atlas — a Hyundai robot on display in the first-floor lobby, holding a FIFA World Cup 2026 Official Match Ball
Social Scavenger Hunt & Fan Perks
Through July 4, fans who encounter the Hyundai robot Spot at Rockefeller Plaza can receive a FIFA Museum photocard. A social media scavenger hunt also runs during this period with additional rewards. Starting July 6, an outdoor fan zone opens just outside the exhibition entrance on Rockefeller Plaza.
Tickets & Access
The FIFA Museum exhibition is free of charge with advance reservations available through the official Rockefeller Center website at rockefellercenter.com. For priority access, you can add museum entry to a Top of the Rock Timed Admission ticket — which also gives you live match viewing 70 floors above Manhattan.
Getting There
Rockefeller Center is at 50 Rockefeller Plaza, accessible from the B/D/F/M trains at 47–50th St–Rockefeller Center or the 1 train at 50th St. The entrance to the FIFA Museum is on the ground floor. Top of the Rock tickets are sold at 30 Rockefeller Plaza.
World Cup Tickets
This is the fifth consecutive time Hyundai and the FIFA Museum have brought a traveling exhibition to the World Cup host nation — and the first time it's landed in New York City. If you're making any trip to Rockefeller Center during the tournament (for the Fan Village, Top of the Rock, or the FIFA store), factor in time for the exhibition. It's one of the most substantive free cultural experiences available anywhere in the city this summer.
