Welcome World Rewards Program: Earn Points at NYC & NJ Small Businesses, Win World Cup Tickets
Published 2026-06-15 ยท WorldCup.NYC Editorial
The FIFA World Cup brings billions of dollars of economic activity to a host region โ but most of it flows toward large hotels, major venues, and corporate sponsors. The Welcome World Rewards Program is the NYNJ Host Committee's attempt to redirect some of that spending toward the independent small businesses that define neighborhood life in New York and New Jersey.
Launched June 1, 2026, the program is free, digital, and region-wide. Fans earn points by visiting participating small businesses and attending World Cup community events โ and those points can be redeemed for prizes that include tickets to FIFA World Cup matches at MetLife Stadium, including the Final on July 19.
How It Works
- Sign up at the Welcome World Rewards website, or scan QR codes on signage at participating businesses.
- Check in at participating small businesses, cultural institutions, and community fan events in person. The check-in is digital โ you must physically be within the location's geofenced area for it to count.
- Earn points for each qualifying check-in. The more neighborhoods and businesses you explore, the more points you accumulate.
- Redeem points for prizes, including exclusive merchandise, VIP fan experiences, concert tickets to events at MetLife Stadium and Sports Illustrated Stadium, tickets to local sporting events, and โ for fans who reach the highest participation milestones โ the opportunity to attend FIFA World Cup 2026 matches as guests of the NYNJ Host Committee.
The Prizes Worth Knowing About
The top prizes in the program include:
- World Cup Final tickets at MetLife Stadium on July 19
- FIFA World Cup match tickets as guests of the NYNJ Host Committee
- Concert tickets to events at MetLife Stadium and Sports Illustrated Stadium (Harrison, NJ)
- Exclusive sports memorabilia and VIP experiences
- Official NYNJ Host Committee merchandise
The NYC & NJ Neighborhood Passport Connection
The Welcome World Rewards Program complements the City of New York's NYC Neighborhood Passport initiative โ a physical stamp scavenger hunt available for free at public libraries, with stamping locations at cultural institutions including the American Museum of Natural History. Together, they form an incentive structure designed to get visitors off the tourist circuit and into the city's neighborhoods during the six-week tournament.
New Jersey businesses across the state are also enrolled. Governor Mikie Sherrill announced the NJ component of the program on May 26, emphasizing that "the largest sporting event in the entire world โ with 3 billion people watching the Final โ all eyes will be on New Jersey."
