Can't Afford World Cup Final Tickets? Here's How to Experience July 19 in NYC
The World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium on July 19 has resale prices starting at $3,000 and reaching well above $10,000 for premium seats. For most people, that price point closes the door on attending in person. But July 19 in New York City is still an extraordinary day regardless β and the version of it that costs nothing is legitimately spectacular.
πΏ Option 1: Central Park Great Lawn Watch Party β Free
50,000 fans on the Great Lawn. Three giant LED screens broadcasting the Final. Live entertainment from noon to the 3pm kickoff, a halftime show produced by Global Citizen, and food vendors throughout the afternoon. Doors open at noon. This is the most cinematic free event in New York this year. Tickets are free but distributed by lottery β register via the Global Citizen website before July 16. The lottery opened June 11. If you haven't registered yet, do it today.
ποΈ Option 2: Rockefeller Center Fan Village β Free, No Ticket
The Rockefeller Center Fan Village covers the entirety of Rockefeller Plaza from July 6 through July 19. No ticket, no registration, just show up. On Final day it will be at maximum energy β the most public, accessible version of the tournament in Midtown Manhattan.
πΊ Option 3: Hudson Yards Big Screen β Free, Walk-Up
The Hudson Yards Backyard has a 60-foot screen broadcasting every match throughout the tournament. Free, walk-up, no registration. 7 train to 34th StβHudson Yards. On Final day it will fill up β arrive early for the best spot.
πΊ Option 4: Best Bars for the Final
New York's soccer bars will be at their peak on July 19. The best options fill up 60β90 minutes before kickoff. Get there early, stake a spot, and watch the Final in a room full of people who care as much as you do. See the complete Final watch party guide.
πΊ Option 5: Stream the Final Live
FuboTV and YouTube TV both carry the Fox broadcast of the Final in English and Telemundo in Spanish. Both offer free trials. Watch from anywhere β hotel room, vacation rental, a friend's apartment β on any device.
π€ Option 6: Ariana Grande at Barclays Center β Same Evening
Ariana Grande's closing night of her Eternal Sunshine Tour is July 19 at Barclays Center, 8pm. The Final ends in the afternoon; by evening, you could be at Barclays in Brooklyn for one of the most anticipated concerts of the year. Grande's tickets are expensive relative to a bar, but they are a fraction of the cost of MetLife Final tickets β and significantly easier to get. Check Ariana Grande ticket availability β
